How do I find...

Anyone know how to find out if a car is still "alive"? I've got the V.I.N. (then called serial #?), engine #, body #, body style #, key #s, etc. for my Fathers' FIRST car, a 1950 88 Convertible! Any help out there?

Yeah, still out there, not crushed, not burned up, but still shows a history.

What state do live in, (i'm from the great state of confusion)? In most states, if you have a friend in the auto-industry, preowned car sales, they have access to the DMV records. They can search buy serial number or license plate, in that state only. Just a suggestion.

I think the quick easy is if you know a cop, see if he'll run the vin for you.
