Twitter acct set up just for that use?
Might be too active, with most requests being nowhere near most recipients.

I'm not on twitter. A lot of us can handle most problems on the road by ourselves. Major things, I just cross that bridge when I get there. I am on the map (in the right place too), if anyone is near Mayberry and needs help.

My last vacation trip to Atlanta, over half way home pulling a 2500lbs tent trailer... my '97 Transport threw a rod pulling away from a toll booth on the New Jersey turnpike. There's little more disruptive to the thought process than a catastrophic mechanical failure on a roadtrip ... particularly when you've got small kids and a wife to cover. Long story short, I couldn't get a motor swap done in a reasonable timeframe. And, vacation over, I was due back at work the next day. Cost an arm and a leg, but I negotiated a tow to get the Transport, the camper, and my 5 person family back home. Only later did I discover ... i'd broken down less than 15 minutes from the house of a guy I'd been chatting with online for years. A guy with a full sized v8 wagon he was looking to sell. For half the price of the transportation, I could have bought it, left him the Transport for scrap, and gotten back home ... if I'd thought to get back online (hotel where we were initially towed to had internet in the rooms) and call out for help.

This is a perfect example of what i was talking about. When traveling you would have a source.Guys with tools, guys with know how, guys willing to help out a fellow member in need of help.Twitter never used it and don't know how. I do have a smart phone! I am not sure how a ut oh hot line could work but would be nice to know that your bases are covered.
