Hood Structure Adhesive

1966 4-4-2 Hood: Several of the bonds between the underhood structure and the sheet metal are broken. What's a good (black) adhesive to use?

It's not really an adhesive. It's technically an "anti-flutter" foam. It lets the inner and outer move slightly, without hitting each other. Something more like this:
Lord Fusor Flexible Foam (Super Fast), Sealers: Auto Body Toolmart

You're going to be in trouble if you're not careful.

i repainted my nephews 85 el camino and while doing body work on the hood it had a bunch of dips in it.i was gonna find another hood but decided to try to work the dips out so got underneath and every dip was where they put the spot of goop.so i got out a long filet knife and cut thru all of em and every dip came out.that stuff was more like windshield urethane then a pliable insulator.i ended up getting a roll of the black high density weatherstripping cutting into squares that just slipped into the gap and put adhesive on both sides and slid em back into place.been 7 years and they are all still in place and hoods still flat.

Body guy is doing it with an anti-flutter.

The problem is if the sealer adhesive is put in wrong the hood will have high spots. The best way according to Scott Wilborn is to turn the hood upside down mounted on stands so the top of the hood will hang down in the proper shape.
