I'd bet money those are from a 68 and someone tried to do a half a$$ job making them look like they belong.
73 442's had real louvers right smack in the middle of the hood

was wondering that too as I was just about to give up I saw anotherone on Google images that lead me to 73-77 Cutlass forum.
I think they are installed backwards but the odds off seeing 2 seems far fetched? I dunno. Just curious. Still thinking about a hood treatment for the Omega.

If your open to cutting and welding in something vs just cutting the louvers in your hood here's an idea. This is a 1973 442 hood, straight and in good shape except for the holes for hood pins. But too big and heavy for anyone to purchase the whole hood. So if you want the center of it I'd be willing to use my sawzall and cut out whatever size/shape you want for $25 plus shipping. Here's several views, let me know if there's any other view or measurement you'd like to see. John

No hurry, and I won't touch it until you tell me exactly how big a piece you want. I'm heading out the door for Christmas dinner too!

I'll be darned. I found more of them exactly like you said. I take it back, although the louvers in the one for sale look like they were mounted on the wrong sides and don't fit as flush as these....

There were 3 hood types in 73.
A hood with 2 small louvres like on the white car on EvilBay.
Then there was a plain hood.
Then the 442 hood with recessed louvres open to the rear with a screen in them. This hood also doubled on the Hurst/Olds with a plasctic hood scoop bolted over it.

Well I still have the louvers and still don't have an Olds. So more shop art.
I cut it down today and will paint it this spring/summer? frame it and hang it in the shop. If I ever need it for a car I can consider that still.

Interesting screen insert, just glued in. Inner and outer parts came apart w/o much drama.

Thanks again John!
