Hood Insulation

I need to replace the hood insulation on my 70 Cutlass. Over the years It’s been getting a bit ratty. A creature tore some large chunks out of it this past winter so it is time to replace. Anyone have experience with the liners from the usual catalogs like year one or OPG. They are not all that expensive.

I bought a hood liner from Year One years ago. The liner was fine but they sent the wrong clips. They were pretty small. I carefully took the original clips off the hood and reused them on the new liner, looked like it should.

Edit: The clips worked fine, and were probably the ones they intended to send, they just weren't correct.

The one that I ordered from OPGI a few years ago fit perfect and had the right clips. Installation took about 5 minutes. You WILL pay a bit more at OPGI, but I have never received a wrong/damaged part from them.

I got the expensive one (molded?) from Fusick but it is top-of-the-line, and they even had the correct plastic clips for it.

As you are in Mass. I would get one of the correct rigid ones from Fusick (Conn.) The one I bought for my '71 Supreme fit well, I can't remember if it included the clips, or if I bought them separately.

Thanks all, I am in Mass. I'll check Fusicks also. I have some time before I replace it. The roads are far from good for taking it out and the current insulation is intact enough to use until I replace it.

X2. I got the Fusick molded one for a 72 cutlass and was great. I feel it was worth the extra money.

anyone know offhand about what section in the Assembly Manual [one assumes] details whether say one's '68 OAI car was supposed to have the blanket?

thanks.
