Perfectly appropriate in my book, people need to give you time to get acclimated and set up before bombarding you with parts and prices questions.

Also, thank you again for the fuel pump core. I just need to bite the bullet and get it rebuilt.

You will have to come sometime. Always bigger than the nationals by at least 40% to bad it's only one day. We have had discussion in the past about going on Sunday, but the bodies that are running the show are older than they ever have been! So a second day might do some people in.

I was surprised to see Fusick at the swap meet. They always claimed that it's not worth it, to come all that way for one day.

I was with oldspackrat, on the back side of inline tube and down. I was headed out to find you at one point but every time I got very far my wife called needing my to come back. I really liked selling there but i think I like looking more. I can't do both. I think next year I will just take what I pre sell and take the Jetfire. Maybe take a box of parts and let oldspackrat sell it for me on commission...

Some of what I thought would sell there didn't and alot of what I didn't think would sell did. Most of the stuff that i sold I can't give away on the net.

Thanks to everyone that bought from me. It will go along way on my girls broken arm Dr bills.

I ran into the same thing last year Saturday morning. I had pre-priced my stuff low wanting just to move it, hoping to give people who needed some parts a good deal, I ended up selling the most stuff between 7 am and 9am (show officially opens at 9 am) probably to other people who just marked up the price and put it back out. Didn't really bother me too much as I did just want to move it and that accomplished that end, but I was really hoping to make some buyers who needed the parts for their cars happy. Sometimes you just have to roll with it. Next time though I'm putting big prices on my parts and then letting people talk me down. Oh, and "f" the people your comments did not settle well with. They're just mad you called them out on it ("The truth? You can't handle the truth!").

Eric I posted pics of mine and a friends swap spot on the OCA face book page. I never left my spot lots of traffic and a lot of people I know would stop by to chat. It felt odd that I didn't buy one thing.

Yes, all Final 500's, in all models, were all dark cherry metallic.

More info on Final 500's on my chapter's website:

I will definitely some day. I have been to many nationals, but it is hard to justify 2 + days of travel for 1 show day. But maybe next year.

No biggie, I am a big fan of the final 5's. If they were coupes on the aleros, I would have been the first to order one!

Allan's comments are quasi-facetious!

Thank you for the link. Something about the final 500 I didn't know. Some of the pics on the link didn't load, but the ones showing the cars and the descriptions did.

Yea, I was really hoping that the would have been coupes, with 5 speeds! The original brochure for the 2004 Final 500's (Bravada, Silhouette and Alero) showed the Alero as a coupe ! I still ordered one anyway, probably better with my kids now.

No problem. The color was only used by Olds I believe for the Final 500's, but had been used on other GM prodcuts prior.

Unfortunately the webpages were from our old club website. The pics that did not load were the old website's naviagation buttons, that go nowhere now. I did not want to lose these pages, so that was the compromise when I redid the site. Maybe someday I will recreate and update them.

Final 500 row eh?
I missed that

Maybe we can use Twitter to keep track of and share things like
Final 500 Row
The Fouranado is here
The THE #1 1970 pace car
Tidbits of general interest like that tricarb setup my friend bought.

Just have to follow as many bleaters as you want to I guess.

mine is @ManChristophe

I rarely use it.

I would think we could just use a hash tag for stuff like that. You would just have to search on the hash tag rather than follow everyone. #OldsHomecoming. At the upcoming nationals it could be #Oldsnationals

Not even close to the last W. My '87 442 is a W-42. My '90 Quad 442 was a W-40 (god I miss that car) and in '91 there was the W-41 version as well. I had forgot about the Achieva W-41 car (was that a 1993?).

And don't try to tell me that Hurst was the last "real" W-car, my Quad 442 would blow the doors off the '79 (even with it's "wrong wheel drive").

Adding the year is OK. However, by the time the next Homecoming comes around the previous year's Tweets will not be searchable.

Many events now days post the official hash tag for the event. A note on the website and a sign at the entrance would be a way to get it out in front of people.

Yes, that should be a new high watermark! 20 states and 2 Canadian provinces.
IIRC back in 1997 my first with a car down at the main plant mid 3's for a total.

I think this is the third location for the show. If this keeps up they are going to need a bigger parking lot.

Correct # 1 main plant till around 1999-2000 #2 Plant #5 2000-2003 and #3 state of michigan secondary complex 2004-current.

I either volunteered or was on the committee at all locations including my tenure as the head chairman.
