Hifonics TPS-BT1 - Sounds

Sounds. Our Olds retains the original AM/FM radio with a single dash speaker and rear speaker. Love the originality of the radio but leaves an audiophile wanting. There are a number of aftermarket options out there that retain a period style and appear to be a great plug and play option without any “hacking” of the interior. As I had quiet a bit of car audio kicking around, I decided to put them into use but respect the OEM appearance and not commit to anything that was not reversible. The solution was to tuck a pair of speakers under the dash, a pair speakers in the rear armrests top recess, mount an amp in the trunk and a 10” sub.

As far as the head unit. I decided on Hifonics: https://hifonics.com/powersports/source-units/tps-bt1/ This was the most discrete source unit that had a volume **** control and mounted in the cigarette lighter hole. Not period correct in appearance, not earth shaking but a nice improvement and just subtle enough that it’ll do.

Equipment: Hifonics TPS-BT1, Alpine 4 channel, Fountek FR89EX 3” in 3”X7” ABS enclosure under dash, 3.5" MB Quarts in rear armrests, 10” Sony subwoofer.

I've never seen that before. Pretty cool.
