Hello and welcome to ClassicOldsmobile. I hope someone is able to help you with what you are looking for. I have a 63 F-85 too, but it is a sedan.

Given shipping costs, it would be helpful to know where you are located.

As you may know, the Rotohydramatic 5 trans is unique to the 1961-63 F-85 cars. I have a trans of unknown condition in a 1962 Jetfire that I can sell. I'm located in Northern VA. Transport to Spring Carlisle or OCA Nationals could be possible.

I only ask because the weight makes a huge difference in cost.

Do you know what code your rear end is? I have an extra A code rear end from a 38,000 mile car. The A code is 3.08 gears and the case is specific to the 3.08. The code is stamped into the passenger side of the rear end cover. I could pull the case and pinion and let them go for $100 and shipping. You would need to have new bearings installed on this case and pinion because it was ran low on oil. The gears are very nice in it still.

Understand, since I'm in Northern VA, so you've about hit the jackpot on shipping. Ironically, I'm currently trying to get a car shipped from Las Vegas to me right now (a 1985 D88).

Unfortunately, I don't have the time (or inclination) to disassemble the trans, so if you want the whole thing, I can see about shipping. I've found Fastenal to be the least expensive for shipping large or heavy parts. I'd like to get $150 for the trans core, plus shipping. I haven't pulled it out of the car yet. Keep in mind that this is a core only; the car wasn't running when I got it.

DC to LV is probably one of the most expensive shipments you could have.
