Here at Turkey Rod Run-Daytona Bch.
Hi all. It is Tuesday and raining off and on here at the Daytona Bch. Turkey Rod Run with the W-31. Staying at an RV park in South Daytona. It is supposed to get nicer on Thursday, no rain, but chilly. I will be parked in the infield, at either turn 3 or 4, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I usually get there after 9:30 AM and leave by 3:00 PM. Sooooooooooo stop by and say hello!

My father and I have gone twice the past years with his friend who has a giant pink 56 New Yorker. It is such a big show that we can never look at them all. We figure we physically see about 60% of the cars, walk by maybe 40% and seriously look at maybe 20%. It is immense and there's everything there.

Spent the day at the shopping center across from the La Plaza hotel in Ormond beach. A lot of nice cars and met some really nice people enjoying the W-31. Going to the speedway in the AM and then to my friends house at 2:30 PM for turkey! Very windy but sunny all day with a temp. of 67*. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer in the low 70s and no rain.

Today was an awesome day! Weather better than yesterday, as it got to high 69* but very windy. Got to meet new Olds people like Joe from Palm Coast. My regular buds from Tally were there and Ozzie (1971 W30) and his son Brain from Miami came up, plus Bill (1970 W30) from New Smyrna Bch. and some of his friends.
Supposed to be nicer tomorrow at around mid 70s and not as windy. Have not seen many Olds muscle era cars or even older models. No surprising saw more 4 door cars of other makes than ever before!

Saturday: Was great a lot warmer, but still windy! Crazy large crowd and saw some lady car owners and a whole lot of 4 door cars than I have ever seen at a car show.
Met more Olds people, who owned mostly Cutlass S and 442 s with the W30 option. Some original owners wanting to restore their rides. One guy from Miami has a 70' 442 covert W30 auto and A/C, a 70' holiday coupe 442 W30 4 speed, and a 70' 442 convert with 4 speed and A/C, all Lansing built cars!
Lots of people looking the car over, taking pictures, and asking "what s an F-85 and what s a W31??? So got to educate some of the masses on the Olds marque and what is a W machine !!!!
Leaving Monday and heading back to home in the panhandle.
BTW: I went through about $150 of race gas (VP 110 @ $9.00/gal.)and marine non-ethanol 89 octane ($4.10/gal.) this week. The W31 with 4:33 s does not get very good gas mileage!
