Help w/ part number

Grp 10.185, p/n 995359 which is a RH mirror, possibly Toronado, guessing 77-80 year range as my parts books go thru 1976 and not in them. Also have parts history books thru 1987 but not showing discontinued in any of them.

Anyone have books past 76?

My parts catalog from April 1977 does not have it listed.

The mirror belongs to a Pontiac friend who is downsizing after retirement and trying to unload stuff. It wasn't in his Pontiac books either.

Thanks Chris for google link- I never think about using it for part #s. Based on description Bob gave me it's the one, and seems it was used on a lot of GM cars.

I have a July 82 parts history and it wasn't in there. Odd that such a mirror would be discontinued early like that since those style mirrors were on some 80s GM cars too.

That part number applies to an accessory kit including all installation materials needed. Accessories were listed in a separate catalog from actual repair parts, and, generally speaking, were only listed during the model year(s) the applicable vehicle wad produced. GM used a different part number sequence for their accessories that primarily were 6 digit numbers beginning with the number nine.

Usually the part would become unavailable after the model year and only the actual replacement parts were available and had to be ordered separately.
