Help Locating Reliable Mechanic

I just relocated from southern Ontario to the Zephyrhills area of Florida, about 40 miles north west of Tampa. I drove my 67 Toronado down here and it has started acting up. I'm looking for some help to locate a mechanic in the area who is reliable. The car runs pretty well but sputters at any thing near heavy throttle. Any advice is much appreciated.

sputters

Hi - sounds like a fuel problem.
If it is running well except at heavy acceleration,
A quick & cheap fix may be to change your fuel inline carb fuel filter.
Hope this helps.

I have always found that the most reliable way to find a good mechanic in your area is to go to the different auto parts stores in town and ask them where they go to get work done.

Could be as simple as a new set of points.
Of course the climate change from North to
South may make for a carb. and timing
adjustment as well.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, much appreciated. I have very limited mechanical abilities so whatever I find out I will let you all know, I hope it's something simple since the motor is freshly rebuilt as is the carb. I did switch to an electronic points system so maybe that has something to do with it.

Yelp, Angie's List, and the like may have reviews that would help.
