HELP! Info needed
Hello everyone, I am a new member and would greatly appreciate any information I can get on my 1978 Olds Starfire. I purchased the car about five years ago and have taken good care of it. All things considered, the car is in good shape. The body is solid, only a couple rust bubbles on the hatchback. Paint is a little blemished but still glossy (medium caramel poly). The original 305 (rebuilt summer 06) runs perfectly. The 4-speed shifts well. New clutch. The interior is in decent shape, plastic moldings are scratched up a bit, seats are in good shape. It has about 100k miles. No PS or PB. The only non-original features are a high-rise aluminum intake, chrome valve covers, new carb, MSD ignition, braided fuel line, and a tachometer.
I know there are not many of these cars left, especially ones in good original condition with a V8 and a 4-speed. I’ve seen registries that say there are 16 left in the country, another said there were 4 left, another said just over 200. Is there anyone out there who might know how many are left around and maybe what the car might be worth?
Thank you
Ken

Hi Ken! Welcome to the site! I can't answer your questions. I do remember seeing 1 V8 "H" body Starfire for sale (via ebay) about 125 miles from me last year. As I recall the guy was wanting $3000 - $3500 and I don't remember if it sold or not. The condition was similar to yours or maybe a little less.
I don't recall seeing any posts on this site about "H" body Starfires. But there may be a few owners here. I do know "H" body guys tend to horde parts, and cars. Cause they're hard to find. Check this site:
