1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2-door hardtop. (3 = Oldsmobile, 4257 = Cutlass Supreme 2-door hardtop)

Built 4th week of February 1971 (02D) at Fremont, California. (Z)

Sterling Mist lower body color (13) with black vinyl top (B).

Black vinyl bench seat with armrest. (TR 980)

The "02048" is a body sequence number at the Fremont plant that can't be decoded into anything.

Not sure what the "380" means.

Does any of this match up with what your car looks like?

The 10 bolt 8.5 rear axle is correct for the car.

You're welcome Too bad they didn't start incorporating the engine code in the VIN until '72. Curious to know if it originally came with the 455. Being a Fremont car, there just possibly be a build sheet or two hidden somewhere....
