Hello Classic Olds Members, again! Need advice.

Hi! New to the forum. Not used to posting. Now I have to. I could use a little input. I'm here because it was my dearly departed's favorite place to be a guy. I have a lot of his cherished items that I have no idea how to get to the right people. I am the new owner of a 1968 442 (W30? any way to prove?) Convertible. We dragged it to Michigan from San Francisco in 1990 and while it's been out in the summer and runs, has been garaged for 27 years awaiting restoration. If there's anyone who can help me prove it's a W30, message me. OW trans, one red fender well, automatic. There's a fairly rusty W30 Post Coupe, no engine, with SS1's. Original interior. Was originally a 4 speed car. No idea what its worth? A rebuilt 455 with Tri-Power set up. Millions of pully's, oil fill tubes and brackets. Water pumps, carburators, starters, ignitions, distributors, stuff I can't name. Steering wheels, H/O wheels (gold/chrome). Intakes (one fabricated J) heads if every kind. Exhaust manifolds, stuff I would like to get into the hands of caring die hard Olds people. If you have any ideas about this stuff, please message me. I'll check back, my email tells me when I get a response. All input welcome. Planning on bringing the convertible to 2017 Homecoming here in Lansing. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to CO rocketette. I'm sure there will be plenty of PM's for you to answer.
Hopefully someone from the forum is close to you and able to take some time out
and give you a hand.

I can't imagine what you are going through and with all those parts to liquidate.
Chris is sorely missed here. Great knowledge along with his dry since of humor
kept most of us on our toes. Good luck and God bless, Adam.

Angela,

If the VIN derivative stamp on the OW trans matches the VIN of the car, and assuming that OW tag looks like it has been on the trans since 1968 (and isn't a shiny, new tag), then that's about the best proof you can get that the car is a legit W-30. If the trans is not original, it's going to be tough. Good luck.
