So I just took a couple leaking OEM heater cores to the shop near me that recored my Vista Cruiser radiator. Turns out that I'd have to buy enough material to recore six cores, $500, plus labor. So scratch that. Oh well, I tried.

I’m in Mass and a friend has a guy that has no problem doing just one. He uses the best Main cores. I can find out what he charges. Aftermarket is all China and Mexico crap

I didn't know that heater cores could be re-cored.

Radiator shops around here have never done that. I've had them cleaned--if they leaked (even forty years ago) they tried to sell a new unit.

I ordered this one from NAPA, but would still get three OEM's re-cored, for a reasonable price.
