Head and Intake milling question

Is there a formula for sbo that shows if you take X amount from the head you then need to take Y amount from the intake so all bolt holes etc line up properly? Do they mill the head side of the intake or just where the intake meets the block? What about the head where it meets the intake manifold?
FYI- building a 380 stroker sbo with Procomp heads and Edelbrock 7111
Thanks

What degree is the V block? 90? Should be fairly straight forward math.

Take the amount milled off the head and multiply it by 1.6. That's what you mill off the intake side of the head. That will work fine provided the head hasn't been milled before.

.0167 is for the older engines.

I got the 1.6 figure out of Joe Mondellos book many years ago and have used it numerous times for a great fit. I have no idea where Joe got it from but it works.

Actually, the Olds is easy in this respect, because the manifold flange is at a 90° angle to the deck surface, so the number is always the same: If you remove 0.010" from one surface, you remove 0.010" from the other surface.
