Having fun with my GoPro camera
So this last weekend while we had very few breaks in our monsoon weather, I thought it would be fun to get out my GoPro camera my family got me for Christmas this last year and try it out. I remember a scene from Miami Vice I watched a long time ago that stuck with me, so I decided to model my vid off that. Plus it was 100% 80's so it fits perfect. This was my first time using the camera, along with the movie program I used, so bare with me, but do enjoy!

Mine is the GoPro Hero 3 White edition. I love it so far!! night videos airn't the greatest on this one, but $400 for the Black edition wasn't even close in my budget. It is definitely worth getting the different accessory mounts such as the suction cup, and extended arms. Once you can configure where to mount the camera, and how the camera itself operates ( definitely print out the 52 page owners manual on the website) they are a ton of fun to use

Nice! Of course I couldn't help myself and put a 455 in her. And of course save the original engine. I did that on an 81 Camaro z28 4 speed cowl induction. 454 in that one. 305 sold with the car.

Very nice video for the beginning shots!
I think I would have done the aniversay pictures first, then the city videos, and at 3:45 when the music changes the mood, a smokey burnout as you hit a winding mountain highway!
I think the song choice was good - some suspense and mystery, and 80's too!
I had done many videos from vehicles with low dollar cameras that have too poor picture quality to be worth sharing. However I have some good ideas after I find the right cam. That one you have seems to work very well, even in low light. A little pricey but may be worth it.
I am interested to know what program you used. I found the MS moviemaker to have too many glitches. I found this out after I did a 6 hour movie from our Europe tour years ago.
Keep a posting new ones!

I have one too. I don't think my vid is as good as yours though. No music, crappy editing, and my dog gets thrown around. I swear he never gets that treatment but I was in it to win it and an Explorer pulled out. Nice vid.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. Like I said it was my first time messing with both the camera and movie program. I used Sony's Movie Studio Platinum 12. I love that program. I feel I haven't even began to tap into what all it's capable of.

I want to see more of these!
Very cool... And zll, yours is cool from the git-go too.
Yours was the 1st video like that I ever saw, short of Hollywood.
I am fond of the Golden's and the Labs. Star was 16 before we had
to put her down. She was the same age as my youngest son.
Looks like she or he was having the same amount of fun as you were!
The car or the dog?

Nice job
I like the 3:28 or so where the brights come on
3:42 Lansing's Capitol Bldg!
4:41 long- really, not one second more?
smoking tire would be nice - ah, 4:04
to hear the Olds V8 would be nice...
and a mirror shot or similar of the camera and how it's hooked to the car?
Fade to end with taillights disappearing into the night?
Nice ride, too

Yeah I really like those ideas. The one with the taillight shot had a good exhaust note and I was gonna use that, but the movie program wouldn't let me silence the song and add the exhaust note. But actually the car is really quite quiet so it isn't too exciting lol. But for a first attempt, trial and error. But one of the mounts I have for the camera is a suction cup mount, makes it so nice!

Pretty sure your program will do it, as it is a basic editing action. I added some effects to my Europe movie and they came out great.
Keep up the experimentation - you will have fun with it!
