Cool Having A Little Fun

About 20 years ago, I found these 425 emblems on a '67 Delmont at a local pick your part, when you could still find these cars quite often. I took them off because I thought they looked cool. Fast forward to today. I painted the background black and the numbers red, got some of that body molding mount tape and put them on the '65 which does have a 425. We both think it looks cool and will get the people that don't know talking. 2011-06-02175932.jpg Better pics to come this weekend.

Thanks! The chrome and the paint was done in 1994. Both are starting to show some wear.

And you left the Delmont? Shame on you.

I did the same in the 80's. I must have 5 sets of swivel bases for my car along with bumper strips and other stuff that's hard to find or very expensive now for my car.

A four-door 67 Delmont 425 was very likely to have been a cop or other high-performance car. CHP used them until Mopar finagled some pricing in 1968 and undercut Olds to get the CHP market back.

I like the way those turned out!

My Dad who joined the CHP in '65 and Step Dad who joined in '66 both have stories about that '67 Delmont. As much as I would love to say how Olds rocked, etc, honestly, they didn't like it that much. Both said the '69 Polara was the best CHP car ever.
