Has anyone shipped a used gas tank.

I've seen want ads for hard to located gas tanks. But does anybody know who will ship a used gas tank? I don't think there's any way to completely remove the vapors. I've got several years/models that I've saved thinking someone would want them. But have no idea what shipper would take them and how they would need to be packaged. Anyone have experience with this?

ive shipped over 100.i used to have an AMC business and back then no tank avail for javelins and AMXs..

i put a cap on it..and i put those plastic vac plugs on everything that was open..took and irish spring bar of soap cut it in slivers...i wrapped the tank in shrink wrap..a layer of cardboard..and put the soap bar slivers where ever there was a crack...and another wrap of shrink wrap and they shipped easy...i always used black shrink wrap..

dont even know if i needed the soap..but the package smelled spring fresh..and the only people i used was grey hound..no questions no arguments nothing..they dont give a flyin' crap what ya ship..just get it covered up good

couldnt smell gas either..so i wasnt worried if they knew or not..i was just paranoid

Potheads use oven bags to mask weed odor. Maybe that would work.

Fastenal told me as long as it doesn't smell. I had good luck years back with
vinegar rinse followed by tide detergent and lots of rinsing. Went from real bad to no fume smell I could detect. FWIW.

I've shipped fuel tanks with Fastenal very cheaply. Just make sure you flush all gasoline residue with water.
