The "Handsomest One" has landed...
Not home yet but it's off the ship, out of the container and ready for the last leg of it's epic journey tomorrow. I cannot believe how clean it looks.
Taking the day off work Friday to get it weighed, inspected and registered. The shipping company sent me these shots today...

No. There were 4 cars in there originally and there are enough Mustangs here already. If I was rich enough to bring 2 cars out, the other one would probably be a resto'd '70-'72 340 Duster. Been a favourite of mine from the start.....but rich I ain't

No kidding!!!
2x4s and bricks? Geez...
That would have had me paranoid the whole time. A big storm could have cause big Trouble.
Glad it got to you undamaged and that the storms stayed away.
Great looking car - go drive it and have fun!

Looks good, only rich enough for a car every six months that is.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

They shipped it with the top down?
I wonder at what point the ship flips over so it's right side up when it gets there?![Confused](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Those supports are better and stronger than steel in that configuration, standard operating procedure. I have "real" carpenter wood sawhorses that you can drive a truck on and the legs are only made of 1x4's.

Nice ride! I wonder if they did any burn-outs with it yet...
Man, I wouldn't trust those supports. You can clearly see some bending in the wood, and what looks like a broken piece on the floor. If the ship would've hit a hard wave, the thing looks like it could've tilted back and collapsed.
Good to see it did in fact get there safely though, with no complications.

The stacking system does look a little scary but these guys have never had a car damaged. The bits lying around are from the first rack which has been dismantled to get the first 2 cars out. I'll have to find out how they get the top cars in there. I'm guessing they drive them in off special ramps. They seem to put the convertibles on the bottom with top down then cover them with plastic. I guess they're lower than coupes which leaves more room up top.

Colonel that is one of the prettiest cars i have seen in a long time. I don't think I have ever seen anybody ask about your being a Colonel. Care to share details with us. Congrats on one of the prettiest cars on here.

Back in my day as an Area Manager with a Bank I was taken over to meet the staff of Cabramatta Branch who were mainly Vietnamese. I had my Col Wickham name badge on an they all greeted me in unison.."Good Morning Colonel Wickham"...so this isn't the first time I've been Colonelised.
And thanks for the car compliment. It's in the shed & outa gas so that's where I'm going in about 1/2 hr when I stop "work" for the day...to the gas station.

You gotta remember the earth is like a basketball , we are on top and Col is on the bottom so the ship just slowly flips upside down. Are you a member of the flat earth society or something?

Sydney is strategically placed so that as the ships from the North arrive here they are just completing their flip and their cargo just falls off. Our wharves are made of foam rubber so nothing gets damaged. The Olds was loaded upside down in California so it came out on its wheels at this end and that's enough crap for one night. It might be 8.50am in Connecticut (just off the phone to Fusicks re a new tonneau) but it's 11.50 pm here. So good morning America, I'm off to bed ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Southern cars.....nice to see all over the world.....
The 70 Cutlass SX convertible in my avatar is a North Carolina sweetie.....It's a Greensboro NC car and was a special order in azure blue (#20) that was popular to order any GM car in this color in Greensboro due to it being the home of the NC Tarheels....You can't beat a North Carolina car. Good buy there Col. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have my SX (about 15 years now) It's a great car you have there and being from the south sure doesn't hurt anything...Oldsdroptop

Well, I used to own a 91 Mercury Capri (convertible) and you could buy a tonneau cover for it. The cover went along the back seats and the front passenger seat, a cover. It didn't lay ontop of the seats, but instead went over the top of them, to provide more covered cargo area. The backseat could lay down flat, opening up to the trunk, so I guess it was like a trunk extension.
Anyhow, by his context, it seems to me that a "tonneau" would mean a cover of some sort, most likely the top. He's pricing a new top for the car.
LOL, a big paragraph to be summed up in a few words...a new top.
