Granbury Annual 4th of July Car show

Wouldn't mind seeing some of you out here on the 29th, this is usually a pretty large show!

Just a reminder, it's from 7pm - 11pm, 25 miles South of Ft Worth, down Hwy 377, and I really would like to put a face to some of you in the area. So come visit!

Can't make it this year but please post a reminder next year. My wife and I come to Granbury at least once a year. We have spent our last two anniversaries there. We stay with Stan and Kay at Granbury Gardens which is an outstanding B&B. They are great folks. We really hated to see Granbury Live close. That was a great show. Too bad somebody else didn't take it over.

Will look forward to some of the show pics. From what I've seen on the site and Olds map, there should be quite a few Texans with Olds's who could be there.

Well, myself and the entire cast of Cacoon were out at the carshow last night. There were not many young car owners out there. What a shame! However there was something for everyone. Mine was one of three Olds out there, my 67, a 67 vert, and a 65 442 that the fellow had aquired 2 day ago and had 4 sale sign on. I tracked him down and he said he aquired it in a trade+ cash for his airplane, and wanted $32k for it. I almost spit up my Coke!

Once the sun went down, we had a light breeze so the 98 deg temp was tolerable.

I'll post some pic's tonight or tomorrow.

Oldcutlass: Sorry we couldn't make it; just returned from a two week stint to Homecoming and NAOC meet in Indiana, and some other travels in between. Be sure and give us an early lead on the event next year, and will try hard to make it down. Juju loves to travel, you see. LOL!

Glenn, us old people seem to rule the classic car world. Man, we're a classy bunch!

No, but what you can do is download your pics to your puter. Transfer them to a flashdrive so they don't take any puter storage. Then wipe both the camera storage card and what you don't want on puter. There may be newer cameras that let you transfer direct to a flash drive (USB 2.0) port. I just don't have that kind of money and I'm not a photographer by trade. I can handle doing it my way. My little Canon will holds about 512MB of file space on its SD card. That's lots for me.

Digital cameras and storage are really cheap now. If your is 15 years old, you really need to get a new one. Watch the Best Buy ads on Sunday.

Allan, I think you are right about us old guys and the classic car world. I did see the 61 Cadillac in the pictures and it would fit the movie Cacoon to a Tee. It has been a long time since I have seen the movie but it seems they drove a 60 something Caddy.

You are right. This is the car. It is a 62 series 60. The sunvisors are autographed by all the members of the original cast. Cocoon the original movie - 1985

We're not all old...I'm 32 and I've got 22 years under my belt with 1972 Cutlass Supreme's and BBO's. How's that for starting young? I remember changing head gaskets on the original 350 that was in the silver car in my signature...I was 10 years old.

Here's a picture of the silver car back then:

Hey Steve, you still look as young as when that pic was taken!! Yeah, that's prolly your Dad huh? Kind of neat to own a car that's older than you isn't it? Wish I could say that. When my car was born I was almost 17. Annnnd, it still has its original head gaskets.
