GM Restoration Parts

In my boredom, I came across this. It's GMs list of approved resto parts vendors.

Hope it helps.

(The fender I bought actually came from Golden Star)

You're welcome. Thought it'd be nice if everyone knew which vendors GM approves of.

GM really don't approve of a vendor or the repo parts. They are however interested in collecting their percentage of the licensing fee. I think it's 10% they get from every part sold. I'm not busting your chops either, just letting you know how they work.

Understand your perspective. GM got tired of the aftermarket stuff being inferior over 20 years ago. That's when they started "licensing" the places that make the stuff. The fender I bought came from Taiwan and is definitely GM specs. Even more amazing is that it doesn't have any dents.

What irritates the hell out of me is GM licenses it but its still not made 100% CORRECT. Like Mike said all GM cares about is collecting there %.

X2

The GM license doesn't equal a quality reproduction part.

That's the point I was making, they have no say so or control over the parts. All they want is their 10% and they couldn't care less about the quality. When a part is labeled GM Restoration, all that means is they are getting their share. I said a long time ago that GM missed their chance to cash in with repo parts, they should have made them and sold them.

GM does not care about quality in anything they make or associated with, period.
