They should give that guy a job as a commentator on the Barrett-Jackson auctions.

I can picture him reading the comments from C.O. and saying "Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it" . Larry

Oh come on! The 1971 only L69 Tri-power was way faster than 14 seconds in the quarter! I had two of them back in the day (who didn't?), and I was running high 11s with them! Hahahaha!!!

Seriously though, that article makes my brain hurt.

I had that option on my convertible but unfortunately the PO removed 2 of the carbs and left me with a single 2bl. Oh well

Unfortunately this is the era of instant broadcasting and communication.
An excellent example of how easy it is to disperse misinformation and bad or misguided advice is Facebook. Post some utter tosh about any subject you care to think of, and there will be some who believe it. The main problem is there is virtually nothing to hold this in check. Back in the pre-web days mostly articles were printed in magazines catering for various interests and hobbies. Of course some bad information still got through, but not nearly as much as today.

So somebody decides the moon is made of cheese, or the World is flat, or something completely not the case regarding Oldsmobiles, the only check stopping it being put out there is the "send" or "enter" button.

Roger.

After only two weeks on FB, I am utterly amazed at the amount of bad information that people post on the couple of Oldsmobile groups that I follow. The signal-to-noise ratio is so bad that I'm not sure it's worth my time.

Get out while you still can.

I've avoided tasting that apple and so far, I'm very happy for it.

I had stayed away for years. The only reason I joined was because all the photos from my high school reunion were posted. Once there, I found a couple of Olds groups.
