Front spoiler

Here is a link to an eBay auction for a front spoiler to fit a 70-72 A-body.
I am interested but want to see one first. Has anyone here bought one
of these? If so, did you like it and can you please post some photos?
It looks like it covers part of the bumber right up to the park lamps. I;m
not crazy about that, but would like to see what it looks like installed.

Help,
Owen

One of our members recently got randys spoiler and noted that it helped w some cooling issues he was having.

i used to have a early 70s mustang w the chin spoiler i liked it. It added to the car (opinions may vary lol)

i would like to see the fiber one on ebay on a car!

Someone on ROP was talking about trying to fit a Buick GSX spoiler on his Olds but he hasn't updated for awhile.

realoldspower.com, a spinoff, circa 2000 or so of oldspower.com, ran by a couple drag racing brothers. Was a pretty good bastion of how to race oldsmobile power, hence the name, with a little more rough atmosphere than here. After many crashes, reboots, rehostings, it's a shadow of its former self but still there.

I run the Buick GSX front spoiler on my 71 442. It still needs to be cleaned up when ever I get to the paint and body work but here are some pics:

Front spoiler

That is a very slick looking ride, I like the spoiler. Where did you get it?
Does it seem to help with cooling?

RealOldsPower use to be a good informative, fun place for Olds fanatics to hang out. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the middle school teen girl drama to show up on a daily basis.

Drama

That's unfortunate. I've seen some of that sort of thing here with
name calling, etc. Hope it doesn't continue.

Also, on the RealOldsPower site there is the outline of a Camaro
front and center. What is that all about??

Thanks - can't remember which fiberglass place I got it from - was years ago. Could have been that showcars place with the link posted here earlier or glasstec (sp?). I got my glass parts from a combo of each (fenders, front bumper, spoiler, & rear deck lid). I just asked for the Buick GSX spoiler when I ordered the front bumper. I found the pic of what they looked like when I received them:

Unfortunately the bumper was not right. I wanted it without the rectangular holes. When they sent the corrected bumper back, the spoiler no longer "fit" with it. So...lots of work had to be done to get that spoiler to mount, look right, and be secure upto 120 mph+. Frank Trimble at TR Performance did this incredible custom job for me as always:

It's really secure and solid now but still needs the fiberglass clean up done to make it look perfect.

As far as cooling, I can't speak to what the spoiler did before/after. I have a 6 speed with dual elec fans and the big Becool radiator and an oil cooler so I can run the AC full blast on the hottest summer day and never go over about 190 degrees. That's on the highway or in bumper to bumper traffic. I actually have an issue in the winter months with the car running too cool on the highway in 6th gear. The temp drops to about 140 degrees. I have to block one of the grill openings to keep the temps up.

What a brief, accurate summary you wrote! Nice turn of phrase regarding the drama.
