Watching BJ auction, anyone else think these prices are ridiculous even by BJ standards? I mean we're only on Friday and some of the prices for these cars are absolutely insane. Even some of the Thursday cars were going for six figures. Saw a 70 442 convertible on there, looked good.

There are some cars on there selling for a lot of money. Just saw a 70 Chevelle Vert sell for 123,000.

This is "COVID-19" money since the auctions got shut down last year, the money was burning a hole in the rich peoples pockets.

I just don't get the fascination of watching rich people spend their money on half azzed Rustoleum restorations.....

I turned it on yesterday, just as they were giving away an award for Restomod of the Year or some such happy crap. I turned it off right away. There's nothing there for me anymore.

Yeah i think the best/most somewhat realistic cars went Thursday and early Friday, everything after that was a restomod, charity car, or part of someone's special collection and will probably never see the road.

That was my observation as well, original , reasonably priced cars are in the first few days. Restomods take over later Fridays and Saturdays with their exorbitant prices. Craig Jackson said it's a new world, where custom resto mod Mustangs are bringing higher prices than original Shelby Mustangs. Changing demographics and tastes I figure.

There are people who drop $50k yearly on vacations that didn't do it last year that are looking for places to stick money. Buying a classic car is one of them.

Some of the prices were shocking. They could have done a better job of providing more details on the cars but I guess they were rushed for time. Plus the 1%ers had a catalog.

The ‘70 442 convertible 4-speed looked nice. But $110k all in ? That’s a lot of loot.

That 70-442 that went for $110k had some issues. That said, there is little doubt that Olds 442's continue their upward march in price.

No matter how you look at it if you want something nice expect to pay 50 to 60USD for something that is really nice
20 to 30USD you are buying a driver project that you will spend to much to make it really nice Also if the car has documentation or pedigree then it becomes another game

I watched parts of it. I have to admit that my jaw dropped when I saw a 4 door '57 Chevy go for 60 grand. I remember when you couldn't give away a 4 door.

Although I have to admit that the mid 60s VW bug that had been converted to all electric, and would do 0-60 in 6 seconds was pretty cool.

I didn't think that you could drop one off of a cliff and have it speed up that fast.
