Finally scored that much needed part
I finally scored a trunk lid for my 1970 442 Convertible, four weeks ago, and didn't even know it until today.
As many of you already know, I've been buying quite a few Cutlass S and Cutlass Supremes lately. Well... I recently bought a Frankenstian car. And man was this car a hodge podge of parts, including the much coveted 260ci V-8. I didn't even know they made a 260ci V-8 until I ran the numbers. LOL
I drove three plus hours to buy this car only to find out I was buying a car that someone was trying to build and flip. They didn't put any real effort into the build either. They used whatever parts they could get their hands on. I could tell right away the car was a mess but it had a complete bucket seat interior so I went ahead and bought the darn thing.
Now I know why it was on the market for so long. LOL
Today as I was preparing to remove the trunk for use on another project I realized the corners didn't look quite right. So I pulled out a convertible trunk lid I had in stock and compared the two. Low and behold, I had a perfect rust free convertible trunk lid to use on my 1970 442 build. The one I had in stock was nice, but not quite perfect.
You can't believe how happy I am today.
