Hate to say it but I cannot stand that Kathy Mattea Rocket 455 song.

Bought the new Clutch record last week and almost **** my pants. Now this is more like it.

Olds could have sold a lot more 4-4-2's if they had decent marketing and songs back in the mid '60s. Pontiac took full advantage of it.

New Olds song

Great song, they used my 59 Olds in the Kathy Mattea video. I was in the studio from 7 am to 1 am the next morning. I must have heard that song 50-60 times that day. They would start a taping and then stop and either go back to the start or go back a few bars. All the dancers and musicians were only lip sinking the words, the actual music track was taped in Nashville, and the video was done in Los Angeles. Paul

German band the V8 ******* have a song called "In My 442" but you can only get it on their vinyl version of Iron Crossroads. I have a friend in the UK who has the record and is supposed to send me a MP3 version of the song, but as of yet, he hasn't gotten it to me.

If you want to have the LP, I've recently seen it for sale in a local book store...it cost around $12, and I'd send it to you!

That's ok, thanks anyways. I have it on CD. The only thing is, the song In My 442 is only on the record and I don't have a record player. My friend in the UK is big on records, so I asked him if he could record it to his computer. He keeps saying "I haven't forgotten you yet". I can wait, I guess. But I am very curious what the song sounds like.

I'm sure this is true, I have several of their albums and based on their sound and style, I would venture to say that live would be even better. It's too bad the video does not have more band footage like the Electric Worry video to show the energy. I say that of most good bands though,.. Live is always Rock'in!! Thanks for sharing, maybe I'll load it up onto my musical collective!

Bought their second album when it came out, bought it twice actually. Robot Hive and Beale Street are my favorites.

If you like country, The Wreckers have "My, Oh My".

"My, Oh My"

This concrete road used to just be dirt
We'd drive out here after work
Every Friday night when I was eighteen

This parking lot used to be a field
I parked here in my Oldsmobile
Long before the Sonic and the Walgreens

[Chorus]
Not no more
Not no more
My, oh my
Look how the time flies
Look how the world changes
In the blink of an eye
My, oh my
Look how the years have flown
Turning around before you know it
Up and gone
Oh my, oh my, oh my

Times have changed and so have I
I once was young and starry-eyed
Now I have these bittersweet memories

Songs were long and gas was cheap
No cell phones and water was free
Daddy paid and I never had to worry

[Chorus]

Oh my, oh my, my, my

[Chorus]

Oh my, oh my, oh my
Oh my, oh my, oh my

Here's a link to the video. I have no idea of why they made it a wild west theme. It doesn't fit the song at all. But Michelle Branch is f'n hot.

Here's a random Oldsmobile video that came up when I was searching.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "In My Merry Oldsmobile." Of course, it is a little dated but it was probably the first.

I always liked the 442 line in the Primus song "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver",
"With a Bocephus sticker on his 442, he used to light em up just for fun."

But my favorite is probably The Lilys, Dimes Make Dollars, "Get in your 442 and come to the How Do."
"Meet you at the How Do Motel, bring your Oldsmobile"
