Fender mounted fiber optics

Chevy was the 1st to offer them in '67, for the full size and then all models in '68. IIRC Buick offered them in '71 & '72 for the full size and the A bodies. These were the chrome pods on the front fenders and the black pod below the rear window.
Cadillac offered there own version (body colored pods) from IIRC '71.
Olds started offering the body colored pods in '80 for the full size and Cutlass. As Cruzn 66 mentioned, the Custom Cruisers up to '90 had them.
I have a set of the chrome pods and am considering adding them to my '71 VC. Yes, sacrilege some would say, but after having 2 '68 Caprices with that option, they are really neat.

Dads 85 Toronado had them. We also had several early 80s B body cars equipped with them.
Depressing. As a kid, I didn’t really care for too many of the family cars we had. As an adult, I would LOVE to have a 71 98 like my grandfather’s, the 70 or 72 vista cruiser, lots of memories.

I had a 90 Buick Estate Wagon with the fiber optic indicators on the fender. I actually had to replace the fiber optic line on the driver's side. As I recall, the backside of the headlight bucket has a receptacle for the fiber optic line. It might take some ingenuity to get the system to work on a car it wasn't designed for.
My coworkers were actually giving me a hard time when I told the story about replacing the fiber optic line. Getting parts at the pick and pull and swapping them out is "plebian" compared to fabricating and terminating new fiber optics.
