Exhaust help needed
I need to replace my exhaust. I may already have it figured out but am seeking confirmation. I have a 1968 cutlass convertible with a 1971 455 and W/Z manifolds. If I have a local shop, assuming I can find one, do a custom set then no problem. But if I order a pre-made set I'm thinking I should order a set for a 1971 442/W30 car. Have I got it figured out?
Any rear bumper differences that might give me tail pipe issues?
Any other issues I might run into?

Hi John
The 1969-72 used the same manifolds, but the 1968 big blocks had slightly different shaped manifolds. I think if you ordered 69-72 exhaust you'd be OK. The tailpipes for your 1968 may need some different mounting brackets than the later years as they had tabs on the bumper brackets. Then your shop will need to line up the trumpets and weld them on. I had a shop get in a hurry on my 1970 and one of the trumpets ended up slightly rotated. So watch that closely.
