Everett Horton
Hi all
I wanted to let the Olds World know that Everett Horton passed away today, December 10, 2022.
Those of you who knew my dad need no explanation of his love for Oldsmobiles, chasing down parts made of unobtanium, traveling to OCA National Shows, and fluent vintage Olds speak.
For those who didn’t know him, he was a kind, funny, and loving friend, father, grandfather “poppy” and husband (54+ years of marriage).
He died peacefully with his entire family at his side after a long fight with dementia.
His knowledge of this hobby we love - especially with respect the thousands of bits and pieces needed to restore an antique car - is a great loss to the Olds Community.
He lived a full life full of love, laughs, family, friends and of course….Oldsmobiles.
He will be unbelievably missed but he is at peace.

R.I.P. Everett.
I bought stuff from him 30+ yrs ago and he has always been a go-to guy for Olds stuff over the years here in N.E. area.

So sorry for you loss. Never met him personally, but dealt with him several times over the years. Everett was definitely an Olds man through and through. He hooked me up with some hard to find parts and not a horrible price. One of the best out there. Sorry to hear he's gone, but his legacy will live on. Strength to you and your family.

I really hate to hear this. Always had good and fair dealings with your dad. It's gonna be hard to replace a guy like Everett.
I know your pain with dementia. My grandmother had it and I watched her go from a vibrant and inquisitive woman to someone who couldn't say what she'd had for breakfast. It's heartbreaking and cruel. I hope Everett didn't have to live with it for very long.

Sorry for your loss Gordon,
I've had many dealings with Everett over the past 30+ years and always enjoyed talking and just hanging out with him either at the OCA, NAOC or Carlisle meets. I knew he was heading downhill when I talked with him on the phone last time.
RIP Everett, God speed.

One of the highlights of the winter in N.E.O.C. was the monthly meeting we used to have every February at Everett's warehouse facility in Rhode Island years ago. After the meeting Everett would set us free to roam his aisles of NOS parts.
One year I came across an NOS speedometer for a 1979 Cutlass/Hurst Olds, the round one with the gauge cluster, for $75. I bought it, but after telling Everett I don't know why I'm even buying this, I'm never going to use it, Everett just smiled and said when I need it I will have it. In 2002 I had my 1979 Blue Calais re-painted and since the mileage was already not accurate due several gauge cluster pod changes I made back then, I decided that was a great time to install Everett's speedometer. It would mark how many miles I put on the car since the repaint, I thought.
And every time I looked at that speedometer I thought about Everett and what he said back then. And I still do.
Rest in Peace Everett. Godspeed, my friend.

R.I.P Everett Horton.
Truely a sad day in the Oldsmobile Community! I had the pleasure meeting him and speaking with him at the GM Nationals in Carlisle on several occasions. He will truly be missed by all of us! On behalf of the Delaware Valley Oldsmobile Club, we send prayers of comfort and strength to the Family. To Everett may the pedal be to the floor and the road be straight before you on your heavenly journey.

I met Evertt over 20 years ago at Spring Carlisle and always stopped by his swap meet spot every year. Always great to see him, talk Oldsmobiles and family and buy a few parts too. Always kind and honest with me and will definitely miss him. Condolences to his family and the Oldsmobile community lost a truly great member.
