One thing I don't like about selling on craigslist is scammers contacting me. Sometimes I will get 4 text messages at once with the sentences out of order so their message doesn't make sense. Here is an email response I got from a scammer:

"Hi, I just viewed your ad posted. I can meet you any time to have a look at it today after 2:00 or Sunday anytime from 9:00am to 7:30pm. I work nights on Sunday at my shift starts at 8:00 pm to 7:00am. I can come by then to check it out anytime provide today before 7pm or anytime tomorrow. Could you possibly show it to me today? We can figure out a time and location to meet up. Let me know what time i can come to take a look it, i want to be sure it's still in good condition before i purchase it and i'm ready to pay in person by cash...You can reach me at elizabethmyers02@gmail.com . Let me know. Thanks. Happy Connecting"

You can tell when a scammer contacts you because they always put their email address in the message for you to reply to. Also they never mention what part they are interested in.

"Please terminate the acct xxx because they are running a scam..."

When the scammers contact me from a CL ad, I always ask them where they live. Never hear from them again unless they're legit.

My buddy in Boise is looking for a new employee. He posted this to Craigslist out there. just thought I'd post it because it seems to sum up what a lot of us think these days.

Cry Babies?

(google map) compensation: $9.00 per hour
Any of you cry babies want to work or is it more fun to stay home and play video games and feel sorry for yourselves while the government takes care of you and all of your mistakes?
Send a resume.

Yeah...I don't think you're going to get some kid off the couch for $9/hr...unless they're a high schooler. I'm all for securing a job no matter what to get some experience in order to move up the ladder...but, it sure seems to me the entry level wage rates still being offered haven't moved much in the past 20 yrs; despite the cost of living rising significantly.

I guess it depends on what's folks definition of an entry level job now. Seems the same folks rant about a #1 at McDonald's costing near $7 but keep pushing for $12 to $15 starting pay for all workers. Sounds great until you are the owner of the business having put years of long hours, missed vacations and savings into your business to now essentially take a pay cut yourself. Lots of folks do have it tough but constant bombardment telling young folks to have it all and anything less you are getting screwed doesn't help.

Sorry to say but a person on the dole makes the equivalent of about $50-60k/year. You have to consider more than just their paycheck. They also get free medical/dental, home and utility assistance, a phone, food benefits, education assistance, etc... I agree $9 aint gonna cut it.

Every car forum I'm on regularly has posts like this bemoaning how terrible Ebay has become. I too remember the "good old days" of boneyards around the corner, swap meets nearby, and answering want ads for parts in sketchy neighborhoods while you looked over your shoulder. I also remember signing on to Ebay in 1999 and a whole new world of parts availability opening up. Well guess what, its 2015 and the good old days are gone and won't be back. Like every other multibillion dollar corporation Ebay has evolved and changed their policies to maximize their profit, why is everyone so surprised? They are still the largest marketplace for just about everything, it's true you have to work harder to find certain things but the deals are still there. When something better actually comes along I'll use it but until then Ebay still works for me.
