Dyeing interior parts

I wondering what is the best way to dye my console black. I have satin black interior spray pain from The Parts Place. Will his work ok? Anybody have experience dyeing hard plastic interior parts? Thanks, Dave

Clean it,clean it,clean it with soap and water. I also use a prep cleaner after cleaning. I use adhesion promoter before spraying.

Might want to try Westley's Bleche-wite on the plastic too, that gets plastic as clean as can be.

I recenly dyed a console and used plastic dye by Parasol which is out of Canada. SEM also makes good dye for spraying plastic and vinyl. As was mentioned, clean, clean and clean some more. I too have used Bleachwhite and it cleans well. I would use a scuffy pad (gray color) to scuff the plastic, clean again with a wax and grease remover, spray a coat of plastic adhesion promotor, let it dry per instructions and then spray the dye in a few light coats allowing ample drying between coats. Here is the one I sprayed. I also attached a photo of a set of kick panels I sprayed using the same process except with SEM dye. Two different people have looked at the kick panels and thought they were new and couldn't believe they were dyed. And they couldn't belive the console was dyed either. You'll get great results if you follow the steps above.

Wipe it down with Denatured Alcohol and paper towel until there are no signs of dirt or yellowing.SEM Landau Black all the way.Or any SEM Product for that matter. They also sell a Matte Finish if it come out too shiny .For a minute I thought I spelled alcohol wrong..just didnt look right..
