Dual gate problems.

Dual gate problems.

I can't get my dual gate (wich may be worn) to shift into 1st gear. I have the trans bracket adjusted almost out of park and have replaced both the shifter bracket and the trans one and also 2 cables. Right now I am hitting reverse properly, then neutral almost in drive, drive in 2nd and 2nd in 1st position. It kind of graduates from park to 1st each getting worse.
Any ideas??

The metal plate that holds the shifter to the guideplate itself may be broken, or about to break. This could cause it to bind up, and not glide freely on that arched shaped bracket. You will have to take the console out and inspect the shifter for anything out of the ordinary.
