dual exhaust cut-out bumper

Was the cutout bumper put on all cutlasses with factory dual exhaust? I would like to get one for my 70 cutlass being that I am putting new dual exhaust on but don't want to if it wasn't a factory option. Thanks

Cut out bumpers were 442/Rallye 350, and i think W-31 only.

The cutout bumper was also required on SX 455 Supremes. The cutout bumper was not part of the W31 package.

Dealer-installed was always an option though.

Ok, so if I put one on my supreme its not frowned upon by those in the know? I'm just trying to keep the car looking correct. Was dual exhaust a factory option on the supremes that weren't the sx?

IIRC for the '72 442 the cutout bumper was only on the 455 equipped cars and not the 350 equipped cars.

Is your car a 350 or 455?
If it's a 350 you could get the N10 dual exhaust option, but it didn't come with a cutout bumper or trumpet exhaust. The N10 had down turned exhausts just at the bumper. The exception to this was the Rallye 350

For 455 equipped cars - Terry and Eric are right about the SX and 442 models.

Put the darn thing on your car!! They are cool looking and a recognizable Olds styling feature....anyone "frowning" at it should have their head checked.

I'm with Patton. I'm putting one of them darned things on my 72 even though it's 350 powered. I love the look and if you're going to have a dual exhaust car it should look classy.

It is a 350 but you guys gave me what I was looking for. I think they are cool and look really nice. the car has dual exhaust now but its in bad shape. I think it would like so much better with the cut out bumper. If anyone has one to sell please let me know. Thanks guys
