Driveshaft color and stripes

I have cleaned the driveshaft on my 71 442 T400 and I can see where the stripes once were. In the assembly manual it indicates one yellow and one green stripe. Does anyone know if the yellow is first (from the front) and then the green. What shades were these stripes, dull or bright? grass green/ forest green?
I presume the shaft was natural steel. Any paints best to duplicate? Eastwood stuff etc.? Thanks.

If you sandblast or clean the shaft to bare metal, satiin clear in a rattle can will work.
