Drive shaft question

Going to a large GM swap meet this week end and I was wondering if the manual drive shaft and also rear end from a 66-67 Chevelle would work in a 67 Cutlass? Also would same parts from a 66-67 GTO work in my Cutlass? Thanks

Measure center to centre where the universal joints should go and if you find a driveshaft long enough they are not that expensive to get shortened. You just can't stretch them.

I know that the drive shaft from a 66/67 GTO will fit.

Another thing to pay attention to is is it an inside or outside snap ring style

I know chevy(Chevelle) is an outside snap ring

Thanks, I hope to find one with a 27 spline yoke already on it.

Different rear ends have different lengths from the U-joint centerline to the axle centerline, but the axle location and the transmission output shaft location are the same throughout GM for the same series and body type cars with the same transmissions, so the driveshaft and rear end set together should fit, while either one alone may fit.

Chevy used the small u-joints, about 3.25" vs. Olds 3.63" across.

So if I went with Chevy rear and Olds driveshaft I would need a Olds yoke in the Chevy rear? Thanks again.
