Dale, is your car a '71 cutlass or 442? Steel rims with dog dish caps were standard on these cars. Except, they were 14". You can use 15" rims with the dog dish caps, as the middle of the rim is the same.

As Erik said, 14's were the only wheels available from the factory in 71 but later GM did make 15x6 and 15x7 steelies that dog dish caps will fit perfectly. I have several of these and have been buying them when I can find them. I have sold a few sets to Olds, Buick, and Chevy A body guys to install dog dish caps on. They really look better than 14's because you can put a larger tire on them and you also have a lot more choices in tire sizes. I have even powder coated several sets (black only) for people and they have absolutely loved them! Let me know if you would like a set.

I just bought a set from PARTS PLACE , wheels ,caps and lug nuts in 14". The wheels won't clear my factory front disc brakes , they don't have the 2 dimples near the valve stem , and there is not enough of an indentation in the center to hold the hub cap on. It stinks since I bought tires , painted the wheels , and mounted the tires on THE PARTS PLACE confirming they wold fit. Now a month later and THE PARTS PLACE still won't accept a return and say Iam installing the wrong . Beware of THE PARTS PLACE on future purchases.

Kelsey-Hayes up here in Canada made the rims for GM back in the days for all the A body cars with the Dog Dish Caps or Wheel Coverings .The 15' rims are stamped on the inside with " 15x7 jj '' inbetween where the beads are, they should also be stamped with the name ''Kelsey Hayes''.You'll have to make sure if you buy a set to get them spun up on a tire balance machine to see if they're bent first before painting.I bought a set from a guy not too far from me for $180 for 4 ,I didn't sandblast them as they were in pretty good shape already so I just sanded ,primed ,painted and clearcoated them .It was exactly the look I was after for my 72 .The dog dish caps I bought off ebay are Original pcs which from what I gather are better then the chrome repos. Now I'm not postitive of the years made but Fusick's list two hubcap models ''67-69"and "70-75 ",only difference is where the "Oldsmobile " lettering is placed. See my pics folder for photos of how I did mine. For proper fitment I'd stay with the GM parts .Oh and one more thing ,once ya get the caps installed they are a bugger to get back off without the right hubcap tool to pry them off,it has a big hook like end pc almost at a 90* angle made by Pittsburgh Tools,Hope this helps ya.

I was looking at adding 15x8's later on for the rear but I don't have any of the blue paint that would match unfortunately .My next project will be to add different springs to bring the ride height down. Here's a picture of the inside of the rim that shows the Kelsey Hayes stamp that got missed .
