Does anybody recognize this piece of duct work?

A friend purchased some Oldsmobile parts for her 1970 Cutlass including this item. She was told it was used on the Cutlass/442 that came factory with an 8 track. I've never seen one like this and am not sure its correct for her car. Can anyone here identify this piece, or at least say for sure it is or is not correct for a 1970 Cutlass? John

I'll go out on a limb a little bit & say it's definitely not for a '70-'72 Cutlass. It looks kinda like a early-mid '60s piece with the thinner consoles???

I had a '70 Supreme with factory 8 track didn't have that. I took the ductwork out multiple times over the years and never saw anything like that - the ductwork looked the same as the non 8 track cars.
