does anybody live around Gresham Oregon?
I am taking at look at this 56 88 post car for a down the road restoration. If there any Club members in the area that would take a look at this car I would truly appreciate your opinions. I would gladly send you a gift card for your time. Thanks Robski

therobski. I cant help you out as far as taking a personal look at the car, just a little to far especially in the winter. But here are a few observations for what its worth.
The price looks very good if the car is as nice as it looks.I'm not quite sure what is meant by only listing it as one mile on the odometer unless thats what it shows is since a rebuild and if that is the case the price is really good!
The car isn't a Delta(no Deltas in 56) but a regular 88 which isn't bad but it does tell you whoever listed it doesn't know Oldsmobile very well.
I would have liked to see a few closeups of the engine bay and it would be helpfully if you knew if the transmission was a slant pan or jetaway, could be either on a 56 88 . The price is enticing enough that if you are really looking for a 56 it would be worth a phone call and a trip up North to check it out.....Tedd

Thanks for the responses. The person I spoke too, Gary said that they got the car from an auction due to the fact the previous owner did not pay his bills at a garage, they put a lien on it and it was eventually taken to auction. It's not clear if it was the car we are talking about-I need clarification because I don't know what could have been done to this almost original car to run up a tab that big? He also said they would send a lot more pictures of the car, they claim very little rust-none on the floors or trunk, needs repair an one front fender and one rocker needs to be replaced, no frame or brake line rot at all.I find that hard to believe, not saying anybody is a BSing but " I have been there done that" You have to know what you are looking for. When I get these pictures I can post them up, I will clarify a few things with the owner after we look at the pictures and go from there. They say it runs good, stops good, shifts good, no smoke, no leaks on a car that "appears has never been taken apart" Plus I have to factor in around a grand to ship it to Dallas. So all said and done he is going to have to be very negotiable or it probably will be sitting along time. I don't think there is much of a desire for a base 56 88. I want it for sentimental reasons that's all.
If the car came from eastern Oregon it could be very rust free, it's high desert and a very dry environment. The price seams good to me, in my area 88's and super 88's are what in demand, more so than 98 coupes or 4 doors of any style. Hopefully it will work out......Tedd
