Question DIY Ceramic - exhaust manifolds

Hello Everyone,
Looking for advise on coating my manifolds.
Does this hold up well?
Can you recommend a brand?
thanks!

I've heard there is a coating you can apply that keeps the manifolds a gray color. I don't recall specifically what it is. VHT Super hot, BBQ grill paint and Hi Temp Engine paint all seem to burn off eventually. Maybe I just apply them wrong though...

I just painted the manifolds on my 67 Delta with the High Temp version of Cast Blast. I have not yet fired the motor to bake the paint and thus have no experience yet with long term durability. I sand blasted the manifolds first.

There are water-based versions of the ceramic header coatings (like Jet Hot) that you can apply at home. I have not tried these yet.

I used the POR15 manifold paint and they look the same 6+ years later (I put less than 1,000 miles on the car a year, and they never got wet).

They were new Thornton pieces.

Good stuff.

X2...POR15 cast manifold paint is the best stuff to use. Put that on my 442 over 15 years ago, it still looks good. I DRIVE my cars and the 442 goes maybe 2K a year. I touch it up on the car with a foam brush every 4-5 if it starts to wear. I run it on my GS's, too. Forget the can life POR mentions. It re-opens easy, not like regular POR. Put it on, run the car like 15 mins or so shut it off... cool...done. Apply with foam brush......it's killer stuff.
