At first I thought those were super detailed 1:64 scale Oldsmobiles (Matchbox cars). I followed the link and saw they are 1:18 scale. Very cool!

 

Ughh nice cars but I wish they would have added the rear spoiler. I always have to modify these cars when I get them. First thing for this one is some Crager rims and bigger tire swap. Then get a 1/18 rear spoiler match paint and install.

 

Here's one I did a few years. From this:



to this.:Repainted the car to 69 Hurst style and added all the 69 H/0 extra's. Added a wheel swap as well on the rear. Had one of the Rat finks sitting around and he looked liked he belonged up there. So up he went. I made a Rallye 350 as well. Nobody ever seems to make exactly what I want, so I usually give it a shot.

 

I never got the rat fink thing. I guess it's a 60 and over crowd thing?

That and crying dolls on the bumper.

 

Hey Koda, I understand your reply about Rat Fink and the 60+ crowd. Here's my story on Rat Fink and why I am a Rat Fink lover. Big Daddy Roth, true Custom Culture Icon on the late 50's and 60's. Designed some of the best concept cars in that time frame. Story I heard from the man himself while visiting the World of Wheels showcase in Los Angeles circa late 1960's. My family and I were visiting Disneyland, but they didn't open until 10 AM. My dad said he had seen an ad for this car museum at the hotel and they opened at 8. We got there right at opening and were meet by an older man in cover-alls working on one of the signs. My dad said "that's Ed Roth". We introduced our selves and told him we were going to Disneyland. He told us he used to have a shop in Maywood, CA not far from Disneyland. In the 50's all the talk was about Mickey Mouse and all the Disney stuff happening in that area at the time. Roth being the genius that he was, came up with Rat Fink as the anti-establishment to Disney's Mickey. Rat Fink was said to be Mickey's alter-ego, half-brother or cousin. As a very impressionable 8 year old, I fell in love with the Fink and all things Roth. All the cool cars and characters he came up with were just crazy. He showed us around the cars that day and autographed the last page in my Roth coloring book we had purchased, which I still have. I guess once a Fink, always a Fink.

 

I picked up a black and gold model at the Carlisle swap. Very nice!
