Did You Know

That in 1966 the parts book lists a side tach for a A body for 6 cyl and 8 cyl.
In my march 68 book it lists the 6 cyl at $123.75 and the 8 cyl at $105.70.
Useless stuff to know.

Yes another member does have one and I believe it"s for sale.
I just thought it's strange one was even offered for a 6cyl car. How many were optioned that way was probably very small numbers.

I have the NOS 66 tach and it WAS for a 6 cylinder but has been converted to a V-8 by Redline. It is for sale. I've talked to any and everybody that has been in the Olds hobby for ever and this is the first NOS unit they have ever seen or heard about.

Another useless fact from the 66 parts book. You could buy a complete body shell. So if the factory says it's OK to re-body a car,why do some have such a problem with it?

The better tach, 64-65, was offered for the V6 too.

Wasnt there two styles of 66 side tach? One with big chrome bezel and one with chrome lip only? Ive seen them both ways.

The chrome bezel was painted with only the leading edge being left chrome. I've seen people leave the bezel totally chrome but it's wrong.
