Did you drive your Olds today?
I drove my 71 98 about 30 miles to work today. The Hagerty rep told me this is allowed once in a blue moon. I've only been cruising in town on the weekends back and forth to the ice cream shop and car shows.
My Olds did great on the highway. It really likes to stretch it's legs with those 2.76:1 differential gears. Of course, I used a lot of fuel, but that is ok. Here are the necessary pics:

I drove the flat top red dragon yesterday without checking rear slick pressure and did a banzaii 1-2 shift at 5500 on the farm road by the house with open headers and it walked on me to the right and left and I almost crashed LOL. Thank God I did the big front and rear sway bars !

I don't know about today but drove to work on tuesday because another car was down. Then last night because I needed a pick-up from a bad day. Had to put down my dog a 14 year old lab/husky mix.

Had mine out Wednesday night. I don't drive it to work because I have to drive through Detroit and the roads are a mess. I also can't see the parking lot so I can't keep my eye on it. I do drive it whenever possible or when I need a good pick me up!

Last week I drove my 57 from Rathdrum Idaho to Everett Washington to cook a Meal for my old club Served 60+ meals of pulled pork spent the night and drove home the next day. round trip of 700+ miles. Loved the drive windows down and the only music was coming from the 455 at speed.

Did drive to work and back, 100 miles total. Performed flawlessly. 2:41 gears and 80mph. Priceless faces on other people i pass at way to work on highway with old american car. Worth every € i burned.

Drove mine to work on Wednesday. It was nice having the top down in the dark at 5am on the way in. The drive home was a bit warmer. But ever since replacing all of the parts for the a/c and converting over to R-134, it was still enjoyable. But there is something that just seems wrong about riding with the top down and the a/c cranked up to max.
Had to get in all of the driving I can. The temps are supposed to be 100 for the next few days in southern Maryland, with the humidity making it 105-110. Too hot to drop the top.

Chip, you touched on how hot it is. That can often be a deal breaker for me this time of year. Early mornings not so bad though.
I usually do one joy ride a week, and another to run errands. 30 miles or whole lot more.

Not today, or yesterday (threat of rain), but did drive mine to work Wednesday since we had a (1st time ever) lunch-time "car show". Had about 15 cars in 3 age categories, I got beat out by a '58 Parisianne (Canadian version of a Bonneville) "survivor" sporting original everything. Still had fun.
I drive mine to work during the spring-fall seasons, trading between it and my '98 T/A (I prefer my T/A when it is hot since it's A/C works). Typically 2 or 3 tanks of gas / season. If there is rain or a threat thereof, I resort to my DD.

[QUOTE=Fun71;937847]I haven't driven mine since spring and probably won't pull it out of the garage again until late fall. It was 101 degrees at 8:30 am this morning and will be 114 through the afternoon.
Damn !

Anyway, it's all relative. I used to think it was hot and miserable when I lived on the Gulf Coast and it hit mid-90s. Now when I go visit I think 96º feels a heck of a lot better than 116º.

Well my 72 has no a/c , No sound deadner or heat barrier , My electric fans actually pull engine heat in., the exhaust adds insult to injury. I remember dring back from the drag strip 60 plus miles on a 90 degree day i was well over 100 inside the car. makes things a little fun lol.

I usually drive my Cutlass at least 100 miles a week.......but not in the last 4 days...it's just been too damn humid lol! The dew point was 78 yesterday with an actual air temp of 93 Gonna drive it tonight for sure cause it's cooled down to a sane level now.........my car doesn't have AC

Yeah, I've been looking into aftermarket systems but I haven't found one thats cost effective and looks reasonable.
It's too hot inside the car. It's been 90+* all week, and sitting in traffic it's borderline miserable. Not worth it. That's what the genesis or the Audi are for. Quiet, fast, and comfortably cool.

The Mrs. was working and football practice for the Two Terrors starts next week. I told them that tonight will likely be our last chance to get to a local cruise-in this season.
So we "stole" her Vert (avatar) and hit the cruise. It was great seeing many old friends and making a few new ones. They had several questions regarding the paint. That felt good.
No pics though. Trust me. It happened.

2 Sundays ago, I dropped it down off the jackstands with the new McLeod twin disc clutch. Then, drove the back roads to work (~100 miles round trip) Monday-Thursday for break in. Left at noon on Friday for Norwalk and the DMR BOC nats(385, one way). Took it to church with a carload of other Olds nuts Saturday night, complete with a burnout. Raced a round Sunday (and won!) before getting rained out. Drove the 385 back home Monday, and was getting 12.25mpg. So, you could say I drove it, but not today. I'm giving her a rest.....

I drove my 84 Cutlass today and most days the past couple weeks, except a couple days when the normally flawless qjet plugged up (damn ethanol). Now it's temporarily running a CCC 307 qjet without computer on the stock 350 until I get the other qjet back together.
I can't get classic car insurance because my other car is an 83 Caprice which my girlfriend is now driving because the rad cradle rotted out and rad fell out on her 04 impala.

I took the Hurst to work today, @ 1300 miles on new motor since last October. On the way home she felt funny off a stop light. I had lost 1st gear in my TH 400. Well after kicking the 455 to 468 with slightly more HP than the stock motor. The tranny was the weak link LOL. Guess I will have to drag the spare tranny out from under the bench and swap them on Saturday.
