Please help me decode the body tag.

Is the last line:
5VYP

I don't have R or P in my database, but does your car have:
A rear speaker? This would account for the R

P I have never seen before. Anyone else?

 

Thats what it is for sure its a column shift and pretty sure it had a rear speaker I took it apart 15 years ago and im lucky if I remember what I did yesterday could the p be column shift?

 

Were rear shoulder belts an option I wanna say it had them but I might just be making that up.....

 

Only "P" option I'm aware of is the Reclining Strato Bucket Seat.

R is correct for the U80 rear speaker option.

 

I wish it had buckets but its definitely the bench

That might be where the 2Z code comes in.

According to the Chevy code "Z" is shoulder belts (RPO Code A85) but that code was used in group 5. There are several codes that are shared between divisions.

I have one Pontiac reference for code 5P; "Luggage Light" and it states in my notes "FRA (Framingham) only" so do you have a luggage light? Only place it makes sense is in the trunk... Sort if makes sense if since this is a FRA car. Maybe this is a mystery solved??

 

Its a real good possibility if mind serves me right there is a light in the trunk ill know for sure on sat thats the next time ill get to the car but your saying rear shoulder belts are there.....

 

I am saying that "Y" is "Deluxe Seat Belts" [Probably RPO A39] but doesn't state "shoulder belts" in front or rear in the description so I am unclear as to if that includes rear shoulder belts in that "Deluxe" package. The only shoulder belt I have seen described is RPO A85 "Front Shoulder Belts."

It is probably buried in some sales literature and I can look around and validate that, but I would say that:
As your car has 5Y and IF (Big IF) there have been no modifications, then "Deluxe" probably means shoulder harnesses front and rear...

...though I would like someone to verify that...

 

I appreciate that my car is completely stripped out I put floors in it before I tucked it away many years ago and I have just recently got the motivation to get it going so its interior is very foggy to me
