I envy you in some ways. I'm seriously thinking about unloading 4 cars. I think the hassle is stopping me. All I can say is you must still be sore from all the "beating up" you took selling 11 cars in a year. That's dedication.

I have 3 old cars and honestly I think 2 is the perfect number. I enjoy driving them the most but tinkering is fun too. I couldn't imagine having one of those big collections of say over 20 cars. Sure looking at them is cool but if you are going to drive them that's another story. I would probably pick 3 or 4 I liked the most and drain the gas out of the rest. Take the batteries out etc. Yup. Too much work.

I don't know how you guys with multiple cars do it. I have one 4-4-2 convertible and my wife has a Jaguar roadster and we have trouble finding time to drive and maintain those. I can't imagine having a stable of a dozen cars without having a staff to look after them.

A guy in our Nor Cal Club has 50 57 Olds cars. Another friend has 28 Olds and two guys in Canada have over 50 cars. I only have two 65 Cutlass one(clone 442). Who has the most Olds cars wins.

The 50's cars are nice, I especially like the wagon. I'd never have the bankroll to support that let alone the 1 & 1/2 I have now. The 1/2 is the 442. I have all the parts just not the time. The wife gave me the OK to get a 71 Vista for under 10K, I think she is crazier than I am.

At one point in time I was at 34 vehicles, now I am currently at 15 and soon to be at 12 or 13... Not to mention the parts hoard... That's what I get for building a 5K square foot shop... Of the 15, only three are not registered and currently on the road...

When I start looking at a new project, I just remember that with each one comes a $ 20,000 + bill attached somewhere, either at the beginning ,on near the end. Usually slows me down, but not always... Tedd

I love the cars in the pics.
I'm down to 2 projects and I think that's still 1 too many. Need to be careful what I wish for though, the bad transaxle on my 96 meant I only got scrap for it. My 71 and my Bullnose truck are too nice to let go for scrap.

I'm about to retire, and you would think I would want to keep the 6 Oldsmobiles I currently have. More time, right? No so, I decided to cut my fleet in half as it's just too much work to keep up with maintaining and storing them. I've decided to keep my 79 blue Calais as that's going on 40 years I have owned it, my 1994 Teal Cutlass Supreme as it is the last new Oldsmobile I bought and will ever buy, and my 79 Hurst Olds. I can handle maintaining and storing these 3 as I'm off to a good start with them in that I've kept them up all these years.
See you at the Nationals with my 1994 Cutlass, driving it all the way!

All my stuff was finished and in proper working order. I would go to the warehouse periodically and get something "new" to drive for a couple weeks. Once had a guy comment to me getting off our commuter train, "You have the coolest cars!" Made my day as I got into my 66 Toro.

I'm down from 4 classics which included a 442 and Starfire, to 2: one Saab Sonnet project and another Porsche driver but still with small things needed. Really missing my big American bad boys. Thinking of just getting the Saab off my property as a donation to other Saab-heads and selling the Porsche to get to 1 Olds back in the driveway.

x2 on that. In fact, just yesterday the wife & I got together and we decided to keep the black/silver 79 (that would have been next on the block after the 94 Convertible goes at Hershey next month), so I will stay at 4 classics for the time being. Let's also throw in the 2009 Mustang GT, and things ain't so bad. I just spend a good bit of time and money since I got back from the Nationals getting the three 79's back to roadworthy condition. I can now take any one of these 4 cars, 1994 CS included, anywhere.
I may be 67, but while I still can crawl under that Quik-Jack, and crawl back out from under it, I will continue to turn wrenches to the end.

Just painted my 72 442 this year and striped it and am just getting ready to work on the interior. I also have a second old car……. a 1976 Corvette. I pulled it in the attached garage in the spring when I started on the 442 and it hasn’t been started since! I’m trying to get the detached garage cleaned up so I can pull it in the back and put it on the two post lift and find out where the power steering fluid has leaked from.
At 72, it takes me about six times as long to work on fix anything than it used to.
