I'm trying to figure this out. My 70 Cutlass non A/C car has the vent cut outs in the dash pad with the kick panel vents. I have seen others with out the cut outs in the dash pad. What was box was checked when my car was built.

 

The only cars that got dash pads without the vent holes were non-A/C cars with vent windows. This would be 4-doors, 2 door post coupes, and wagons without A/C. 2 door hardtops (supremes and holday coupes) and 2 door convertibles all had the vent cut-outs in the dash pad A/C or not.

 

What do vent cut-outs in the dash look like.
