You probably don't want to hear this but for others sake I found better pricing through S*mmit. Also I got no satisfaction dealing with Pyp*s directly on how many clamps were required to install their system. Also, the fitment does require tweaking but it does fit OK and sounds great with Race Pros.
im not sure why joe are the valence exit tail pipes different than standard tailpipes ?and are the hangers different? the system i got was 2.5 when i lined the pipe up with the cutout it wasn't anywhere near the frame rail where the hanger was mounted .
The standard tail pipes are designed to exit under the bumper. The valence exit pipes are apparently designed for GTOs. I don't know how those line up with Olds bumper cutouts.
i guess ill wait til monday and call gardner and get a price from them if its too high i will talk to pypes reps and get the proper part number for my application .was looking for stainless 2.5 without the x pipe .i will check the part number from above as well. thanks to all .we'll get er done eventually

Yes. The 2 1/2" are tight enough. Be careful to install the mufflers forward and not pushed to the rear of the car or you will be melting your plastic fuel tank vent on a 69 anyway.
i did get a hold of gardner today and they were very helpful but the price was too much for my budget so i ordered the pypes model sga29r30 talked with the pypes rep and he assured me the system would work . the tailpipes in this kit are different than the standard a body tailpipes that i got the first time around .hopefully will get here in time to install this weekend .thanks again.
That kit will require down pipes for stock exhaust manifolds and the 2 1/2" chrome tips Pypes sells. It comes with down turned exhaust tip add ons which you won't need. Also, you'll need two additional clamps. Good luck with your install.
hey guys i finally got everything worked out and received the new pypes sga29r30. summit was good with the exchange and even went halves on the return shipping.it took me a couple nights after work but got it installed. tailpipes lined up with the bumper cutouts just fine .wasnt crazy about the tailpipe hangers but eventually ill replace them with the 442 style did have to buy a couple extra clamps as rroldsx suggested .will have to run it a bit then retighten all the clamps .im pretty happy with sound as well not too loud but im sure it will make some noise when i get on it .price was very fair at just over 400.00 still have to get the tips .thanks for all the input .maybe move on to the interior next
