The Cup is Canada bound!!
Eric, They were technically correct. The cup was Canada bound for game 7. Unfortunately for them, it didn't stay long and has now headed to Boston!
Congrats B's
I was at game 6. I only wish they had won the previous Friday (6/10). I would have been able to see the Cup festivities in person!! Game 6 was still an awesome game. My ears were still ringing the next day.

Well, Boston did it. This had to have been one of the best cup finals I have seen in a long time. It could have gone either way. I am glad Boston won. The worked hard and they are an original six team. Vancouver has a young team and they will be there again.
Chippy series. The way hockey should be IMO. Best friend is from Red Deer so it has been a source of enjoyment for us for a little bit. Icing after The Mavericks smashed the heat.
A Canadian kid eats, sleeps, and dreams of scoring the winning goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup final. It was Recchi (a kid from Kelowna, BC) who scored the winner and realized his dream. Not so for the Europeans. They are great players, but the drive is not there. In fact there are more "Canucks" on the Bruins than on the Canucks.
In the 50's, 60's 70's the French Canadians were treated like second class citizens and some teams didn't want them, so Montreal got the first French Canadian pick. They had something to prove and Montreal went on to dominate the sport. Of course, now every team has them.
When I saw Marchant punching Sedin in the head time after time and doing nothing I thought "WTF? Sedin has no passion and no drive. Boston will take it." The only person I really like on Boston (I'm a Habs fan) is Thomas...and he's American.
Go figure. Congrats to Boston and the Bruins. You were the better team this year.

the problem with vancouver, i think, is too many europeans on the team, or european mentality. When a european hockey player is young he dreams of representing his country at the olympics.

442much you hit it right on the head. The Sedins and most of the European players are not grinders. They don't like to play tough physical hockey. They rely on speed and finesse. Well...against a physical team that will grind you to a halt. After Thorton got taken out that's when the series shifted. Boston wanted it Vancouver expected it. Like I said it was a great series one of the best in a long time. It could have gone either way.
Europoeans play great pocket hockey in their pants. Bruins had skill detemination a big set and a total knowledge of the game. They could have won it in four!! Word is the B's knew they had at after game 5...just a matter of time.
Don't worry Van...next year the cup will be yours....yours to blow it AGAIN ha ha
