Post Courtesy Lights and Headliner

Need your direction folks.

63 Dynamic 88 Holiday Coupe - need to remove the headliner to clean and reinstall. How do you get the two side courtesy light bezels off????

For the headliner, I am assuming there are bows and loops for the center area and glue panels for the rear side panel areas behind the rear windows. Good assumption?

The courtsey light lenses should have 2 small tabs on them, opposite sides from each other. Look closely and find the tabs first. Get a very small screwdriver and gently pry the lens toward the middle. Once you get one tab out the lens should come out. If their old there likely very brittle/fragile and may break very easily. Once the lens is out, remove the bulb. There should be a screw or screws holding the bezel on.
Yes generally the sides, front and back are glued. Remove the trim from around it, and gently remove it. However the fabric, if old is also very fragile, can tear very easily, easier than a new one would. It may be wise to just clean it while in the car.

courtesy lights and headliner

Well that advise was on the money. However, our lenses have three tabs versus two. The are very flexible which was a pleasant surprise.

Regarding the headliner, after your cautioning about tearing it, it is only loose behind the courtesy lights so we will just remove the chrome trim around the window and re-glue the headliner. It is in great shape and does not appear to be torn anywhere. Any suggestions on what cleaner to use on the headliner would be helpful.

Also, we need to adjust the slim jim trans. If you have any better directions than the service manual please feel free to comment.
