Is this the correct mirror for '65?

I've seen a few others but can't recall seeing any like mine. Not sure if it's original to the car or off something else. This is on my '65 F-85.

It is definitley different than the one on my 65 convertible. Not sure if the 4 door was different. It looks like it is off a newer model or possibly aftermarket from the 70's.

Parts store generic aftermarket mirror. The 62-66 factory mirrors were notorious for losing tension on the ball joint and not staying in place.

An outside rear view mirror was an extra cost option on your car so it's possible that it was sold as a new car without an outside mirror on it.

Very interesting. Never would've noticed until I compared it to others I've seen. Will try to take a better pic in case someone can identify it. It has the plastic gasket but I guess if it was aftermarket that would come with it anyway. Amazing what these cars didn't come with. My '70 seemed light years ahead and was only five years newer!
